We just launched Boongle Grok 4.6 with SpaceXAI — our latest flagship model, and currently the most stable and most capable model in Boongle IDE.
Boongle Grok 4.6 is now available in the model picker. It is based on Grok 4.6 by SpaceXAI, tuned for how people actually work in Boongle: long coding sessions, multi-file edits, terminal use, and agent loops that need to stay coherent instead of drifting.
This is the model we recommend when the task is complex — refactors that span a whole project, tricky bugs, architecture decisions, and writes where “almost right” is not good enough. It is also cost-efficient on first-party usage, especially while the limited-time discount is active.
You do not need a new IDE build for future catalog models. Boongle Grok 4.6 ships through our model catalog, so it appears for everyone as soon as it is enabled. Open the selector, choose Boongle Grok 4.6, and start a chat.
Boongle Grok 4.6 is a first-party model. It uses your included Boongle usage pool — the same pool as Auto — not Pro API credit. That means it is available on Free, Pro, Pro+, and Ultra. There is no plan lock and no extra checkout step.
Because it is more capable than Auto, it draws usage at a higher rate: 4× Auto per output token. A 40% discount is currently applied, so you are charged 40% less usage than the full 4× rate until we announce that the promo has ended. We will notify you in the IDE when that discount expires.
Free still has a smaller monthly pool, so Grok 4.6 will consume it faster than Auto. If you live in the model for large agents, Pro and above give you a much larger first-party budget. The model itself is the same on every plan — only the size of the pool changes.
Auto remains the default. It is fast, cheap, and the right first stop for small edits, tab-style completions, and everyday questions. Boongle Grok 4.6 is the step up when Auto would need several retries, or when you want a single pass that understands the whole task.
Pro API models (Claude Sonnet 5, Gemini 3 Flash, GLM 5.2, GPT 5.4 Nano, Mimo V2.5 Pro, and others) still bill against included API credit. They are excellent specialists. Grok 4.6 is our generalist flagship on the first-party side: one model you can leave selected for hard coding work without burning API credit.

API models require a paid plan with remaining API credit. Boongle Grok 4.6 does not — it only needs remaining first-party usage.
Stability first. Grok 4.6 is the model we trust to follow tool use, keep file paths honest, and finish an edit instead of narrating one. That matters in an IDE: a flashy answer that skips the patch is worse than a quieter model that actually writes the file.
Complexity second. Multi-step agents, plans you accept before build, and diffs across many files need a model that does not lose the thread. Grok 4.6 is the strongest option we have for that class of work today.
Cost third. Flagship quality on the first-party meter — with a launch discount — is how we want people to try it. Use Auto when you want maximum mileage. Switch to Grok 4.6 when the problem is worth the extra usage.

We’re introducing our new main model in Boongle IDE: Auto.
Before this, the default was labeled Boongle 1.5 Flash. We got a lot of reports and feedback that it was not the model people expected from that name — it did not match how we described it, and it did not match how it actually behaved in the editor.
That is why we are rebranding Boongle 1.5 Flash as Auto. Same first-party pool, same place in the picker as your everyday default. The name now matches the job: it is a small model router, not a single “Flash” SKU.
Auto only uses first-party models usage. It does not spend Pro API credit. It can get faster when the task needs it, and it stays slow — cheap and light — when you only need a small change.
A one-line fix should not feel like a full agent run. Auto is built for that: quick when it should be quick, thorough when the prompt actually asks for more. You should not have to think about which internal model is underneath. You pick Auto and write.
Quota is unchanged. Auto consumes the same amount of first-party usage as Boongle 1.5 Flash did. If you were already on the default model, nothing about your limits moved — only the label and the routing story.
Fast mode is still there when you want more speed on Auto. Leave it off for small edits. Turn it on when you want the router to prefer the quicker first-party path. Either way, you stay on the included Boongle meter, not API billing.
Auto remains the right default after Boongle Grok 4.6. Use Auto for daily work and mileage. Switch to Grok 4.6 when the problem is large enough to spend the extra first-party usage.
